About Me
Hello and welcome to my e-folio page! My name is Luke McMurtrie. I am a senior at Holy Cross College and I am from Richmond, Virginia. I hope the content and information within my e-folio provides you with enough information to become better acquainted with me, my background and my educational experiences both inside and outside of the classroom.
A Holy Cross education is unique in that it offers a Liberal Arts education which is relevant, practical and diverse, yet focused, coupled with opportunities to engage in many different forms of service and global immersion experiences. This different approach to education, one that educates both the heart and the mind, was the most appealing aspect of Holy Cross College to me.
I am an English major. As my last semester comes to a close I feel confident that I selected a perfect undergraduate education for me; an education that has equipped me with some of the knowledge, tools and experiences necessary to be successful in many aspects of my life.
The theme of my e-folio is To the Rhythm of Life. When I reflect on my life, I see it as being broken up into many different sections like that of a song. A song never stays the same and is always changing, much like my life. The different parts of a song, like the introduction, the chorus and the bridge all are separate and distinct, yet they complete the ever changing sound. I view the chapters of my life and my experiences in a similar fashion, with each section moving forward to a different rhythm, unified yet distinct.
